Authentication is required to activate all social media accounts. You must have admin access to the social media account to authenticate it. If you do not have admin access, you may send a link to the person who can authenticate on your behalf.
If you have admin access to the social media account(s), follow these steps:
- Go to Settings and select Authentication from the left-side menu.
- Choose the social media platform you want and click Authenticate.
- You will be redirected to the relevant sign-in page for the social network to enter your credentials, which will provide the platform with an access token.
- Once authenticated, the account icon will be displayed.
If you don’t have admin access to the social media account(s):
- Go to Settings and select Authentication from the left-side menu.
- Choose the social media platform you want and click Get Auth Link.
- Copy the link that appears.
- Email the link to the person with admin access. (They do not need to be a Crowd Analyzer user and will not have access to your dashboard through the link.)
Notes:
- A red ribbon at the top of your dashboard will display a warning if you haven’t authenticated an account or if the authentication has expired.
- Authentication typically expires within 30-60 days; you can renew or delete the authenticated account by clicking on the options icon at the top right of the account icon.
- For Instagram authentication, ensure the account is linked to your Facebook page.
- When a social media account is authenticated, Crowd Analyzer only retrieves data (such as comments, mentions, shares) without accessing the account directly.
