A Spike Detector Alert notifies you when the count of matching activities spikes beyond a specific threshold or exceeds the daily average. This alert is useful for quickly identifying emerging trends or sudden surges in activity.

Set up a Spike Detector Alert for your brand mentions to detect a sudden surge, which could indicate a potential crisis or a viral event.
Steps to Create a Spike Detector Alert:
- Go to Notify Hub:
From your Dashboard’s left-side menu, select Notify Hub → Alerts. - Click New Alert:
Click the New Alert button. - Select Spike Detector:
Choose Spike Detector from the list of alert types. - Enter Alert Details:
- Alert Name: Provide a descriptive name (e.g., “Brand Mention Spike”).
- Threshold: Enter the threshold value in the “Type a threshold value” box (e.g., 150 mentions) or choose the option to trigger based on the daily average.
- Choose Streams:
Select the stream(s) that you want to monitor. - (Optional) Apply Filters:
Refine the alert by applying filters such as sentiment or mention type. - Enter Email Addresses:
Specify the email address(es) for notifications. - Click Save:
Finalize the alert by clicking Save.
