What Are Filters

The Filter feature is available on all Crowd Intelligence platform pages. Filters allow you to sift through your data based on your search objective. Multiple filters can be applied at the same time, and remember, the relationship between filters is an AND. You can build as many filters on top of each other, and you can also save frequently used filters to avoid recreating them each time you access your dashboard.

Types of Filters:

  1. Network:
Defines the network you want to monitor. This filter is best used when you want to see mentions coming only from specific networks (e.g., blogs, online news, forums).
  2. Language:
Defines the language of the mentions. For example, if you want to review activities captured in English, select the “English” filter.
  3. Dialect:
For Arabic mentions, the platform categorizes the Arabic language into three dialects: Standard Arabic, Egyptian Arabic, and Gulf Arabic. Choose the dialect based on your search objective.
  4. From Location:
Specifies the location of the mentions you want to see. Note that this filter relies on the user’s profile location, which may not always be accurate. If the desired location is not available in the dropdown, you can use the syntax:
    country:XX (e.g., country:fr for France).
  5. Exclude Location:
Similar to the location filter but excludes mentions from a specified location. You can also use the syntax:
    -country:XX (e.g., -country:fr to exclude France).
  6. Gender:
Filters mentions by gender—female, male, or business (typically verified business accounts).
  7. Sentiment:
Filters mentions based on sentiment (positive, negative, or neutral).
  8. Mention Type:
Filters by the type of mention you want to view (posts/tweets only, comments/replies, or likes).
  9. Media Accounts:
Excludes posts from brands or competitors, allowing you to focus on mentions tagging your brand or competitors. (Ensure that your stream is categorized correctly as brand or competitor.)
  10. Include Tags:
Filters mentions that include a specific tag.
  11. Exclude Tags:
Filters out mentions that include a specific tag.
  12. From Author:
Filters mentions coming from a specific author by their username.
  13. Exclude Author:
Excludes mentions from a specific author by their username.
  14. Keyword:
Allows you to sift through data using keywords, users, hashtags, etc. Ensure you use a boolean query compatible with Crowd Intelligence syntax codes.
